Signing Badge To earn this badge you must complete 6 activities. The starred activities are required.
1.* Learn the American Manual Alphabet. Be able to sign your name and the name of 4 friends.
2. Learn the words and actions/signs to at least (2) songs. You may choose
from the following:

In a Cabin in the Woods
We Change the World
Kum Ba Ya
Brownie Smile Song
My Hat
3. Games: Play at least two (2) of the following
Charades
Finger Spelling Bee
The Wild Duck Finger Spelling Game
I Spy (A Sign Language Game)
Sign A Tale (A Sign Language Game)
4. Read a story about a deaf person.
5. Learn to count with ASL (American Sign Language).
6.* Use earplugs or cottonballs during a meeting. Change with a buddy halfway through the meeting. Write how it felt to be deaf. How did you communicate with others? How did they communicate with you. What could you do to make it easier for a deaf person to join your group?
7. Write and perform a skip about a deaf person who wants to join your Girl Scout troop.
8. * Learn the Girl Scout Promise in Sign Language. Share this with others.
9. Compare Indian Sign Language and ASL(American Sign Language). Are there any signs that are familiar?
