Daisy Homelessness Awareness Patch
Complete at least four requirements including the one starred (*)
1. *Bring in donations for homeless and underprivileged families. (I.e. school supplies, toys, personal items, etc.)
2. Find out what homelessness really is. Define the word homeless.
3. Listen to a book, magazine article, or relevant material about homelessness.
4. Make a group collage of different types of houses in your community, state or different home from around the world. (Fisher, Timothy Huts, Hovels, and Houses; Floethe. Louise Houses Around the World; Weiss, Harvey Shelters from Teepee to Igloo)
5. What is a habitat? All animals have a habitat. A habitat is a place that provides food, water, and shelter. Look at pictures of different animals habitats. How do the animals build their houses? How could their habitat be destroyed? What happens to the animals after their habitats are destroyed?
6. How do people become homeless? Where can they go to find help? Learn about places that help homeless families in your community.
